About the
Driven Elements Amateur Radio Group
The DEARG is a modern emergency
communication training and response group for Lawrence County
Arkansas. We provide training in the different Digital Voice,
Digital software formats and
Computer programs used in emergency communication among the
different agencies that may require our assistance during the time
of a county, state or nationwide disaster or event.
A large number of served agencies in
Arkansas are rolling over to digital modes using computers and
radios together for transferring information. The Arkansas
Department of Health and area hospitals are among those, they are
installing D-Star radios to handle traffic using a digital radio
format with software for transferring files from hospital to
hospital and to the department of health.
ADEM (Arkansas Department of
Emergency Management) is also transitioning to a similar system for
transferring files and information. This is an analog radio system
but converting files and forms to computer files that can be
transferred via radio in a similar fashion as the internet, but not
dependent on the internet.
Voice communications will always play a
part in emergency communication, but in this modern age, it is
important to keep up with the advances in technology that are being
used by our served agencies. In this way, we may assist them when we
are needed.
This website also includes information
and orientation material that is used with the different agencies we
may be required to assistance.
